Bubble wraps are made of plastic (polythene material) primarily used for packing of fragile items. Bubble wrap was invented and trademarked in year 1957 by two engineers. They also formed the organization Sealed Air to manufacture their revolutionary invention. Since then term bubble paper became a generic term quite synonym to the packing material for protective and safe carriage.

Size and Length:
Bubble wrap comes in many different sizes, forms and length. The typical form is the one used by movers and packers in the plastic form. However it can also be in a non-static form which is used by the packers for the specific packaging of electronic items. In addition to be used as a simple wrap it also comes in the form of Bubble Wrap envelopes with a self adhesive layer to seal the opening for better protection.

There can be many different lengths and sizes which divide the bubble wrap in 3 primary categories namely; small bubble wrap, medium bubble wrap and large bubble wrap. Small bubble wrap is the size used most frequently for packaging of any types of small and fragile gift items for your loved ones. The twp primary width in this category is 12” and 24”. Most of the items are packed in 12” width and thus are most in demand among the movers.

Small bubble wraps are also determined by the height of the cellular chambers. These cells may range anywhere from 1/8 of an inch to 1 inch. The typical small bubble wrap is 3/16th of an inch and is used frequently by the movers for packaging of shipments. The primary utility of these small bubble wrap is to keep the fragile items intact and in unbroken condition. Thus the height and size is particularly complimentary to that.

Utility:

All packaging materials have a specific purpose to serve other than the base function of packing.. One can not suffice the specifications of other. For example the bubble wrap used for void fill may not and should not be used for the wrapping of the items. The bubble size in the small bubble wrap is specifically designed for the purpose of wrapping and packaging. It serves the purpose of providing cushioning and protection of the finished layer. Prevention from scratches, chipping or denting is the prime utility of a small bubble wrap. Adding to this it also may provide cushioning against vibration for smaller or lighter items.

Small Bubble wraps have maximum utilities when compared to other sizes. They are most popular with the carriers or packers and provide adequate cushioning and safety to all items. If you want to send across any fragile and delicate items as a gift for any special occasion then packing them in small bubble wrap surely gives them enough required protection.

You can find them at every other general store possible or even at office suppliers. Buying them online is another value for money option and you may also end up obtaining lucrative deals as small bubble wraps are most in demand and bulk buying is always accompanied with some additional package.

Bubble bags are a fairly new innovation and very popular with all who are involved with the display, storage and delivery of fine artwork.  Creating beautiful artwork is not the only consideration when you are in a gallery or commercial setting with your art, because there are a myriad of issues that can occur when moving or storing your valuable pieces.  This situation calls for protective gallery packaging that shields the artwork, is easy to use and allows for clear viewing of the artwork, no small order to achieve.  There are, however, custom bubble wrap bags that suit all of these purposes, creating some of the best gallery packaging available from fine art picture frame supply sources.

One of the issues that artists and gallery owners face is finding suitable protection for framed artwork.  The corners of frames are stiff, and can easily tear flimsy plastic bags.  They also require a bag with the depth to accommodate the width of a filled picture frame.  This is where large bubble wrap bags are superior to other lesser packaging options.  These custom bubble bags are crafted so that the bottom of the bag expands a bit, making it easy to slide a framed piece of artwork inside.  Better bubble bags also give you the option of having a side or top opening, making it even easier to insert the artwork into the bag safely.  Custom bubble wrap bags also come with ziplock closures, which help to ensure that your artwork stays safely inside the bag, rather than slipping out and potentially meeting with disaster.

In addition, bubble wrap bags make a great choice if you need to store artwork.  Because quality bubble bags are clear, it makes it possible to store a large number of artwork pieces, and not have to unpack everything to determine which piece is which, because you can easily see the artwork's surface inside the bubble wrap bags.  Large bubble wrap bags can also be reused, saving money on storage costs while providing a more environmentally friendly option than disposable bags.

Artists and galleries also use large bubble wrap bags when they need to ship artwork to clients.  It is imperative that your artwork arrive at a buyer's home in just as good condition as when they saw and purchased it at your gallery.  This is when these bags truly shine, because they are not only attractive but also provide a great deal of protection for your fine artwork, even if it gets handled fairly roughly.  You can increase the protection even further by adding cardboard corners to the frame before placing it inside the bag.

You will find a selection of sizes and shapes of custom bubble wrap bags available from fine art picture frame suppliers online.

If you are in the type of business where you are going to be doing a lot of mailing to important clients, then you need to make sure that you are teaming up with a top quality business to assist you with that. Some people have small internet businesses that don't require them to mail out too much. They have no problem making a trip to the post office a few times a week. However, if you are on the right track you are going to watch your business grow, therefore you are going to realise that you need a little assistance. You probably started at the bottom then built your business up, which means that you need to be careful about whom you choose to entrust your packing duties.

In this article, you will be given the basics on who to trust.

Know What You Want

It is important to ask yourself exactly what it is you are looking for in a packaging company. The first thing that ought to come to mind is punctuality. In other words, you need to make sure that items will be mailed out by them in line with when you say they will be mailed out. Look at it this way. There are many consumer options for you to choose from on the internet today. If your items are constantly arriving days later than they are supposed to, then you are going to develop a bad reputation and all your hard work will end up wasted, moreover you will build up a reputation for late deliveries. This, of course, is unacceptable for both you and your clients. Bearing this in mind, you need to work with a company that fundamentally understands your needs.

Getting the Best Packaging Deal

You will also need to choose a packaging company based on cost. You may be of the opinion that this kind of service will not cost very much, but you could be surprised since this is a growing industry that offers many different services. As a matter of fact, you will find that you have numerous options when it comes to the kinds of services you may choose from. Variety is an asset, but you should know that it also comes with a price tag. You need to ensure that you are only looking at services that you can afford. However, don't be afraid to pay a little more for a reliable service since you will end up saving money in the long run.

When you are looking for the perfect packaging company, you are going to want to make sure that you are using the internet to the best advantage. This is the only way to learn enough about a company without having to pick up the phone. You will be able to find out what other people have said about the company, as well as being able to see what kind of track record they have and which, if any, special services they provide.

------

Choosing what packaging to use can be a challenging thing. You must use
enough to protect the items in transit, but not too much as that will
put up the expense. Bubble wrap is one answer, as it is both light and inexpensive. For more advice on good packaging see

Packaging Trusting a Third Party

Bubble wraps, bubble mailers or bubble envelopes are different names of a single commodity, primarily used for the packaging of fragile and delicate shipments. Bubble mailers are mainly used for mailing the small items as they are not very expensive as compared to the boxes used for mailing other large sized items. Bubble wraps are available in many sizes which can be divided in three categories; small, medium and large bubble mailers.

Construction & Cost:

Large bubble wrap is made of thick kraft paper quite similar to any other size bubble wrap. Inside the envelope there is thick lining of the bubble sheet. If the paper is torn by any chance then the inner lining should also be torn in order to extend any harm or damage to the packed item. Large bubble wrap is particularly not demanded very frequently however it has highest resistance against any type of brokerage or damage for the shipment. Most of these are water and tear resistant.

Large bubble wraps cost higher than the small or medium wraps. Thus the shipping cost automatically increases making it slightly less desirable both on carrier’s and customer’s part. However if you intend to ship large items which are expensive and delicate in nature then large bubble wrap comes as a perfect solution. They are specifically used for filling up the void in the boxes providing adequate cushioning against all type of shocks. If you are actually confused about the length of the large bubble mailer that you may require for packaging, there is an easy way out. To calculate the exact length of the large bubble wrap adequate for wrapping the item; measure the length and thickness of the object to be packed and add two inch to it.  The two most common sizes of large bubble wrap are 65’ x 12” wide and 65’ x 24” wide.

Utility and Environment Friendly:

As already discussed the prime utility of the large bubble mailer is to fill the void in the boxes in which items are packed. With the space left in the box, item can have the possibility of getting damaged or scratched on the surface. Large bubble wraps are of considerable width and thickness and by acting as a fill up refrain the friction caused by the free space thus protecting the shipped item.

Mostly all bubble wraps are quite environment friendly. Large bubble wraps are made of kraft material which is easily recyclable. Large bubble wraps are perfect fill up as they are quite light in weight and also require less space for storage. The box weight is hardly increased while using large bubble wraps thus making it much more handy and easy to carry.

You may choose among the varied sizes available in the large bubble category. Online availability is another added feature which helps you in picking the exact item suiting your requirement. Large bubble wraps the most cost effective and space feasible way of packaging large items in the boxes.

Every professional business should be keeping up with the demands and needs of its customers, if it is to survive. One of the essential tools of any business these days is to have a professional web site. This begins with choosing and registering a domain name that will clearly identify and brand your business online for many years to come, so you need to choose wisely.

How to choose a domain name

1. If you want your web site to have an added advantage in the search engines, think of a domain name that includes keywords visitors would search for in the main search engines.

2. Make a list of all the possible names that would suit your business (i.e. isitebuild.com contains resources for building your own web site or getting one built). Use www.nameboy.com for researching domain names. NameBoy will generate domain names based on the keywords you enter. If the dotcom name you want is not available, create a longer name that describes your business or use names that include hyphens (i.e. ihost-websites.com)

3. If possible, keep your domain name short so it is easy to spell and easy to remember. Take into account someone may remember the name but forget there is a hyphen in it – you then miss out on those potential customers.

4. If the dotcom name is not available, try the other new abbreviations such as .BIZ .US,.INFO, .TV. These are not as popular as .COM, however you may get closer to the name you want.

How to register a domain name

1. Any company that sells domain names must be registered and accredited with iCann - The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (http://www.icann.org). You can get a domain name for under $10 from Godaddy.com. Read carefully what's on their site as you go through the registration process. It's easy to inadvertently sign up& for other services you don't need.

For a current list of companies that are accredited as registrars by iCann, visit Internic (www.internic.com). Subscribe FREE to Marketing Tips Newsletter

How to Choose a Hosting Company
How Much Hosting Space Do You Need?
Hosting from $30/year

2. Register your domain name in your own name, not someone else's. Sometimes your host may do this for you. This could cause you problems in the future, should you decide to transfer your domain to another hosting company.

3. Renewal - you have had your site on the Web for a year, sales are pouring in when suddenly, your site disappears – it won't show up anymore! What happened? Well, you forgot to renew your domain name. Hopefully this will never happen to you!

When you sign up for a new domain name, make sure your domain name registrar will send a reminder when your domain name is about to expire.

4. When asked about DNS server (domain name system) or Name Server information, insert your Primary Name Server and Secondary Name Server information – ask your future Web Hosting service for this information, if you don't have it handy.

What is the DNS system?

It is the computer action of changing domain names into& numeric Internet protocol (IP) numbers which enables& computers to locate web sites and e-mail.

If you haven't chosen a Web Host, then park your domain name with your domain name registrar (this is a temporary location to store your domain until you are ready to have it hosted).

How to transfer a domain name.

There may be several reasons why you would want to transfer:

-Renewing Domain Names
There is a good chance that you could save money on domain name renewals by transferring them to a different registrar. Check out the prices from different registrars at NewRegistrars.com.

Before renewing a domain name, make sure you know which registrar the domain name is actually registered with. WhoIsQuery.com is the only WhoIs known that handles the CORE registrars as well as the ICANN ones.

-You parked your domain name and have now found a Web Host to upload your site to.
-You are not happy with the service or are paying too much for your current web host and want to switch to another.

1. If you are transferring your domain name to another web host, download (copy) all files to your computer from your old host.& Sometimes files may be stored on your host but not on your computer, so doing this will ensure you downloaded the whole site.

Keep a copy of your files on the old host, while you transfer to& another host, so you won't experience any downtime of your web site.

2. Open a new hosting account.

3. Change the DNS (domain name system) or Name Server information& on the current domain name to the new hosting company name servers. You can find this information by going to the domain name registrar (the place where you registered your domain name).

Your domain will take some time (24-72 hours) to propagate over the Internet, before it appears on the new hosting company servers.

4. Upload all files to the new host.

5. Amend and test your web site. Check that all files have been& uploaded from your computer and that your web site appears exactly as it did before.

6. Cancel the previous hosting account when you are satisfied with the transfer of your domain name to the new host.

A Great Tip for registering several domain names. Since domain names are so cheap these days (they used to cost $35/year), you can afford to own several domains. Each domain can have its own web site. Most small sites use less than 5MB of hosting space, so you could host several sites for a small price.

What are the benefits of doing this?

Linking each of these web sites together and submitting them to the search engines will increase your sites search engine rankings. It will also broaden the places visitors can access your business. Generating a continuous traffic flow leads to more sales. You have now implemented and solved one of your crucial marketing strategies.

How to Choose Register or Transfer a Domain

Step 1. You may wish to start searching for wholesale suppliers in your local area. A good starting point would be to visit your local packaging or stationary shops that sell bubble wrap. You should talk to a sales person and see if they would be able to offer you a deal if you purchased the bubble wrap in larger quantities i.e rolls. An alternative would be to ask them if they could put you in touch with their suppliers or wholesalers.
Step 2. A quicker way to find local suppliers would be to use internet search engines. Within the search engine screen select your local country in order for the search results to be more local. Within the search box type in "buy bubble wrap wholesale" or "bubble wrap shop packaging". You can now start investigating the results by clicking on each link and reviewing each web-site in turn. It is advisable to scan the first 2 to 3 pages of results as the cheapest or better quality shops will not always appear first in the list. In one particular search http://www.manuli.co.uk was found. On visiting the site and clicking on the "Bubble Wrap" product link it was found that anyone could buy varying quantities and sizes of different bubble wrap at many different prices, for instance; A pack of 500 x 50 Standard Large Bubble Wrap x 50 Meters which contained 3 rolls was £24.67 (8.22 per roll). If you like the price, pick the number of items/packs needed and add them to your shopping basket. Before completing any transaction it is advisable that you read the delivery terms and conditions so that you are aware of any extra costs and when you would expect your item to be delivered. It is also worth mentioning that many wholesale companies offer a quotation service for large purchases and also allow some customers to purchase items via a credit account. This can be very useful if you are repeat buying. Once you are happy to purchase the goods you must complete your transaction by going to your shopping cart, enter your payment method, delivery detail and then wait for you shipment to arrive.
Step 3. Use an auction site such as e-bay and see if there are any open auctions for wholesale quantities of Bubble Wrap. Again be sure to read the delivery instructions as this will inform you of any hidden costs or delivery restrictions.

How to Buy Wholesale Bubble Wrap

Bubble wrap is a better stress-reliever than watching TV. To others, the bubble wrap is the most affordable sleeping cushion. If you really hate the sun you can use bubble wraps too.

Foil bubble wrap is different from the ordinary translucent bubble wrap. Foil bubble wrap isn’t a bit translucent. It actually totally blocks off the heat of the sun, so little or no light can enter your windows if you place it in them. So where can you use your foil bubble wrap? Foil bubble wraps are specifically used in attics and basements.

If you’re currently having duct problems in your house since the bubble wrap is made out of plastic, it can also be used as a “material” for duct insulation. If you definitely want to eliminate heat loss from your duct, “wrap” a bubble wrap in it.

You should take note, however, that bubble wraps used for duct insulation aren’t really the same as the ones you get with fragile appliances. If you want to use the bubble wrap to solve your duct problems, you need to buy a specific “Foil Bubble Insulation Duct Wrap” for it. With bubble wrap, you can do the “insulation job” yourself.

Where to get bubble wraps?Bubble wrap suppliers are United Pan American INC. The company also distributes packaging tapes, stretch films, and other products used for packages. There are hundreds more that our site just can’t accommodate, so you can do the searching yourself. Don’t be afraid, it’ll be easy.

Amongst many options in packaging material, plastic is a top favorite because of its many benefits. Plastic was the most preferred material for packaging cosmetic products even at a time when the issue of plastic pollution was at its zenith. It continues to be the most widely used packaging material today with bio-degradable and recyclable plastics replacing earlier plastics. Cosmetics manufacturers, cosmetic packaging manufacturers and customers prefer plastic cosmetic packaging for various reasons, including: afford ability, durability, light weight, versatile sealing methods, flexibility, versatile packaging methods, water-resistance, tear resistance, shatter resistance, ease of manufacture, color versatility and ease of storage and transportation. Of these benefits, let us focus on the different packaging methods possible with plastic:

Versatility in Packaging Methods

Standard packaging and custom packaging are the two broad divisions of plastic packaging. Standard packaging refers to common packaging such as bottles, containers, bags, foam sheets, bubble wrap, cling film and so on. Customized packaging, on the other hand, refers to the packaging made for a specific type of product. The different types of packaging possible with plastic allow cosmetic manufacturers to wrap products beautifully, neatly and in attractive styles. Since some products need to be wrapped differently and more carefully than others in order to avoid contamination, deformation, corrosion, breaking, damage due to weather and so on, the various packaging options available make things much easier for cosmetics manufacturers. The different types of packaging are:

a) Sachets - Sachets are small disposable bags containing a single-use quantity of any cosmetic material such as shampoo, body lotion, face cream and so on.

b) Skin Packaging - In skin packaging, the product or products are placed on a paperboard or pre-made tray and then sealed with a thin and transparent plastic sheet. The paperboard normally has a heat-seal coating. For a firm fit, vacuum is also used. Skin packaging is used to hold cosmetics such as perfume bottles.

c) Blister Packs - Blister packs are used for small cosmetic products such as eye pencils. A blister pack consists of a cavity or pocket made of plastic and a lidding (check spelling) made from paper, paperboard or plastic. The product is placed in the cavity and is then sealed on the paper or paperboard.

d) Clamshell - The clamshell offers a more secure kind of packaging. Two pre-formed plastic sheets or one sheet folded in half are fused at the edges.

e) Shrink Wrapping - Polymer plastic film is used for shrink wrapping. When heat is applied after covering a product with the plastic film, the clear plastic shrinks tightly around the shape of the product. It is generally used as an overwrap on other types of cosmetic packaging such as cartons, boxes and so on. Shrink wrapping protects the product and at the same time displays the item within for customers to see. Shrink wrapping is favored by cosmetics manufacturers and cosmetic packaging manufacturers as it makes the products look

Bubble wrap is often taken for granted but have you considered how and why it was invented. It is used for a variety of reasons in today's world ' from moving house, to packaging, to entertaining children. This article looks at the invention of bubble wrap, how it can be used and where it can be purchased in the UK

The Invention - where did it come from Bubble wrap was invented in 1957 by two American engineers called Alfred Fielding and Marc Chavannes. The underlying reason behind their creation is not documented but their invention has become an every day item throughout the world. Despite being a registered brand, the term 'bubble wrap' is now commonly used to refer to all similar products known as 'cushioning material' - in a similar way that 'Hoover' has become synonymous with vacuum cleaners.

Bubble wrap is a pliable transparent plastic material which consists of regularly spaced, protruding 'bubbles'. It was invented by two American engineers in 1957 - Alfred Fielding and Marc Chavannes. Despite being an official brand name of Sealed Air Corporation, the term 'bubble wrap' is now widely used to refer to all items within the 'cushioning material' category.

What Uses Does our cushioned packaging have Bubble wrap has a wide variety of uses. Most commonly it is used as a packaging material as the bubble provides shock absorption to reduce items being damaged.

The most traditional use of this uber packaging is for packing breakable items during a home removal. Often purchased along with cardboard boxes, it is used to wrap small, fragile items such as ornaments or photo frames to prevent damage during transit. Larger items such as mirrors or television sets can also be wrapped in bubble wrap to reduce cracking or scratching during transportation. As previously mentioned, the size of the bubbles within the bubble wrap is important as it affects the shock absorption. Before you start packing your personal items for your house move, consider which size of bubble wrap is most suitable - small objects are best wrapped in small bubbles whilst larger items are better protected by larger bubbles as these offer greater protection. For items requiring extra protection, multiple layers of bubble wrap can be used.

With the advent of internet and home shopping, there has been a significant rise in the number of items being transported over both short and long distances. Previously, many companies used scrunched up newspaper or polystyrene beads within their packaging to protect items. However they have since moved to bubble wrap as it is not only more cost effective and better for the environment, but it also creates less mess.

It is not just companies who use bubble wrap in their packing. With the evolution of auction sites and other online personal sales channels, consumers are now also using bubble wrap to send their items to other people. This is primarily for the same reason as companies - to provide better protection, and ultimately fewer returns.

There is another less practical use of bubble wrap - the pleasure of popping it. Although you may find this amusing, it has been proven that popping bubble wrap alleviates stress. Similar to the 'stress ball', the process of popping bubble wrap re-focuses the mind, whilst the sound is one we associate with amusement. Whilst bubble wrap may entertain an adult for a few minutes, it can be used to entertain young children for much longer. It isn't just the popping noise that amuses them, but also the look and feel of the material itself. Being relatively transparent, it enables them to see shapes and colour through it, whilst the bubbles provide a unique texture.

Where To Buy Bubble Wrap
Since it's creation in 1957, bubble wrap has become widely available to purchase. It is available in large rolls ' sometimes up to 100m for use in industrial packing or moving house, or smaller sheets which are ideal for ad-hoc packing tasks. The width of bubble wrap rolls also varies depending on what you need it for ' generally from 300mm up to 1500mm is most widely available. You can now also get anti-static bubble wrap which prevents you getting charges whilst using it, and also prevents static discharge to enclosed items.

With so many varieties of bubble wrap available to buy in the UK, you might be baffled with too much choice. Speedy Packaging offer free advice and a wide range of bubble wrap lengths and sizes to meet your needs.

The Ultimate Moving Accessory Amp#039 Bubble Wrap

Here is a rundown of a process for coating guide wraps that I can almost guarantee is unique in the world of rod wrapping.

After over a year of applying and evaluating the results of various coatings, applied in a multitude of ways there emerges a winner that will be my personal preference for years to come.

Some of the considerations when you are attempting a coating that meets the following criteria;

Ease of application

Low profile, (Not bulky)

Dries crystal clear

No bubbles

No Dust

Very durable

Flexible

I will probably kick up a covey of doubting Thomas's but, believe me when I say it is possible. And, better yet, it is not a complicated process.

Take Note, this has been classified for the past two years:

Apply a uniform Varathane Spar Urethane base coat with an applicator bottle to the wrap as it rotates toward you, (Counterclockwise), in a heat chamber at 30 RPM.

Keep the volume of Varathane at a minimum and let it cure at 95 degrees with at least a 40% humidity reading in the chamber for a minimum of 24 hours.

Keep the rotation going for a minimum of (2) hours before stopping.

Prepare the chamber ahead of time for coating by wiping it down with a damp cloth just prior to coating.

Closely inspect each wrap prior to applying the coating and remove any foreign lint or fibers.

Proceed to apply a second and / or third coating of Helmsman Spar Urethane thinned by 10%,

(80% urethane /10% pure mineral spirits).         CAUTION: DO NOT THIN BEYOND 10%

Apply using the exact process as outlined above.

The basic logic and wisdom that enters into this process is as follows:

Varathane will always remain "Flexible" to an extent that will allow for minimal movement. This is especially desirable when considering the age old problem of wraps cracking around the ferrule interface with the rod. I found that if you intentionally dent a surface coating of Varathane with your fingernail it will "Self Heal" in 24 to 36 hours at normal ambient temperatures.

The use of a small applicator bottle with a .019 dia. needle opening will cut down on the incidence of putting bubbles into the coating, the likes of which are so prevalent when using a brush.

A rotating rod section will allow you to apply the coating uniformly around the wrap and inspect for complete coverage.

Having all of this activity taking place in a chamber lessens the handling and reduces the induction of dust and lint which can be devastating to a perfect coating. Humidity will also reduce the floating dust and lint fibers in the surrounding air space.

The convenience of heat and humidity is self evident and convenient.

I have given you the keys to rod wrapping success now go drive yourself to euphoria and wrap a top quality rod you will be proud of.

Check out my website for a complete picture of my take on wrapping guides on rods.
